The radiation therapy equipment at WRTC is the same equipment that can be found in academic settings giving us the ability to treat all types of cancers:
2 Elekta Linear Accelerators (linac):
Both IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) capable. One is IGRT (Image Guided Radiation Therapy) capable. Both offer photon and electron beam in multiple energies.
Philips AcQsim CT Simulator:
Used to determine positioning of patient and to contour the treatment volumes. Fusion with CT and PET scans may also be used in the planning process
CMS Treatment Planning System:
Calculates and displays radiation doses
MMS Treatment Planning Computer:
Determines optimal distribution of radioactive seeds for Prostate Seed Implants
IMPAC Multi Access/MOSAIQ database:
- For use as electronic medical record for oncology
- Records and verifies radiation treatments on the linear accelerators
- Provides Information Management System
