A majority of the time, radiation treatments will not cause nausea in patients. Treatments are site specific, meaning that when someone is treated for a brain tumor, the side effects are only within the area that is being treated, i.e. hair loss; throat cancer, sore throat and taste alterations; lung tumors, esophageal irritation and cough. When the areas of the stomach and pancreas are treated with radiation, patients can experience nausea, but quite often medications can be given to alleviate the symptoms of nausea.
